This is a traditional stool for the men of the Pokot tribe.
It’s a taboo for a woman to sit on it. The traditional Pokot do not invest in furniture, the women and children sit on the floor. The man will turn the stool upside down when he wants to take a nap and rest his head on the protruding base of the stool. He carries a gourd with him all the time for his fermented milk or the local brew.
