Rain Causing Havoc in Pokot
July 17, 2017
We talked to one of the girls today. She was telling us how rain has hit Pokot hard, it’s been raining so much that the children at the school she teaches are unable to come to school. It’s ironic that when there is no rain they suffer with drought and when it rains there is so much havoc. They do not have a proper infrastructure like drainage and dams to store the water. Bridges are also nonexistent, and so the children suffer crossing the rivers. The elderly and the young too often get carried away by the flood water.
College is drawing near, and the girls look forward to August. We are praying that there will not be violence after the elections so that the school dates remain the same.
