Visiting Girl Out of Harms Way
July 25, 2017
One of the girls has arrived for an extended visit. It was nice to receive her, and we look forward to having her around. She looks happy and is excited to be here. Her brother called us to express his gratitude for getting her out of the village. He was worried she would despair because life at home is very hard; he says even having one less mouth to feed is a relief for him. He has 5 children and no source of income other than his goats and cows.
The college sent us a message today. The girls report to school on the 14th of August. We will pass by the college on Thursday to see if the letters for two of the girls are ready; they need to be sent from the Ministry of Education.
