Schools on Midterm Break

Schools are on Mid-term break until the end of this week. We visited a girl’s school in the neighborhood where we hope to also introduce to the Choice Club. The students, had, however, already gone home. We will check with the school again next week.

Our girls are doing well at their respective schools, despite the drought. It has not rained yet, and the heat is unbearable. The weather man says it should rain in March, and we are eagerly waiting his prediction.

 

We are busy with the review of the Choice Club Curriculum and doing as much research as possible to ensure that the information we are passing on to the girls is both accurate and relevant for this generation.

 

We traveled to Meru over the weekend, and upon happenstance, ran into the Priest who hosted us for the FGM conference in 2015.  He requested that we hold another conference at the end of this year. He says the need of FGM awareness is still very high in the region. Girls, he said, are still dropping out of school in high numbers due to teenage pregnancies and early marriages.
